Help Mount Holyoke students affected by the COVID-19 outbreak
The outpouring of support for Mount Holyoke College students, faculty and staff in the face of our community’s rapidly evolving response to the COVID-19 outbreak has been heartening. While those on campus quickly made arrangements to shift to alternate modes of instruction and implement policies for recommended social distancing, MHC alumnae, parents, families and friends rallied together to offer their assistance to current students during this unprecedented time. In that spirit, the College has created the Emergency Student Relief (COVID-19) Fund, where financial contributions can be directed in support of students.
This fund, administered through the Office of Student Life, is being directly and immediately allocated to current students to address the urgent needs and financial uncertainties caused by this unprecedented global pandemic, and we anticipate that the need will continue to increase over the next weeks and months. Gifts to the Emergency Student Relief Fund are helping our students in the following ways:
- Covering the unexpected expenses of emergency travel and temporary shelter.
- Providing computers for students who don’t have them and supporting other technology needs for remote learning.
- Assisting with living expenses for the 309 students who remain on campus, including seasonal clothing, hygiene products, medications, food, etc.
