Shanze Hasan ’21

Shanze Hasan ’21 hails from the heart of one of the world’s largest cities — Karachi, Pakistan — which is nearly 7,690 miles from South Hadley. For her, the definition of home is family, friends and spicy food. With a major in international relations and a Nexus concentration in law, public policy and human rights, Hasan hopes to launch herself into a career that will bring the opportunity to help better the world.

Inside the M&Cs shift

“If you want to get paid to sit and eat cookies while monitoring more cookies, sign up for the M&Cs shift!”

This was the first time I heard about M&Cs, or milk and cookies. I was a first-year international student, attending a work-study meeting where we were to select shifts to work for Dining Services. A senior came up to the people in my row and quietly whispered this sage advice, which I took. (Thank you, kind member of the class of 2018!)
